History of the British comic - A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom which contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

Free Comic Book Day - Free Comic Book Day is an annual promotional effort by the North American comic book industry to help bring new readers into independent comic book stores. Based on a suggestion from retailer Joe Field in the August 2001 issue of Comics & Games Retailer magazine, it was started in 2002 and is coordinated by the industry's single large distributor, Diamond Comic Distributors.

Each collector will have his or her own preferece regarding which authority to follow, but popular and respected guides currently include The Official Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, Comics Buyer's Guide magazine, the Comics Buyer's Guide Standard Catalog of Comic Books, and Human Computing’s ComicBase, an inventory/databasing software program.
